1. NASA (US)
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is an independent
agency of US federal government responsible for civilian space program. It was
established in 1958, succeeding the national advisory committee for
aeronautics.The annual budget of NASA is 23 billion dollar.The focus of NASA
science is focused on better understanding earth through the earth observing
system.
Some successful programs of NASA is Space Shuttle program (1972–2011), International Space Station (1993–present),Constellation program (2005–2010), Commercial Crew Program (2011–present), Journey to Mars (2010–2017), Artemis program (2017–present).
2. ROSCOSMOS (RUSSIA)
The Roscosmos is a state corporation of the Russian Federation
responsible for space flight, cosmonautics programs and aerospace
research. Originating from the Soviet space program founded in the 1950s, Roscosmos emerged following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. It initially began as the Russian Space Agency, which was
established on February 25, 1992 and restructured in 1999 and 2004, as the Russian Aviation and Space
Agency and the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), respectively. The annual
budget is 2.77 billion dollar.
As the main successor to the Soviet space program, Roscosmos' legacy
includes the world's first satellite, first human spaceflight, and first
space station.
3. ESA (EUROPE)
The European Space Agency (ESA) is an intergovernmental organisation of 22 member states dedicated to the exploration of space. Established in 1975 and headquartered in Paris, ESA has a worldwide staff of about 2,200 in 2018 and an annual budget of about €6.68 billion in 2020.
ESA's space flight programme includes human spaceflight (mainly through participation in the International Space Station program); the launch and operation of uncrewed exploration missions
to other planets and the Moon; Earth observation, science and
telecommunication; designing launch vehicles.
4. ISRO (INDIA)
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the national space agency of the Republic of India, headquartered in Bengaluru.The annual budget is 13.494 crore. It was founded by vikram sarabhai in 1969.
ISRO was the world's first space agency to find water on the moon and insert a probe in orbit of Mars in its maiden attempt. It has the
world's largest constellation of remote-sensing satellites and operates
two satellite navigation systems namely GAGAN and NAVIC.
Goals in near future include expanding satellites fleet, landing a rover on Moon, sending humans into space, development of a semi-cryogenic engine, sending more unmanned missions to moon, Mars, Venus and Sun and deployment of more space telescopes in orbit to observe consmic phenomena and outerspace beyond solar
system. Long term plans include development of reusable launchers, heavy and super heavy launch vehicles, deploying a space station, sending exploration missions to external planets like Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and asteroids and manned missions to Moon and planets.
5. CNSA (CHINA)
China National Space Administration (CNSA) is the national space agency of China responsible for the national space program and for planning and development of space activities.The annual
budget is 11 million dollar and it was founded in1993.
